Notify a Team
You don’t need a monitoring tool to use OpsFusion. Notify Team raises an alert and pages the on-call person directly from the app — no API integration, no webhook configuration, no custom tooling.
This is useful when:
- You’re setting up OpsFusion and want to confirm the on-call rotation actually reaches someone
- A problem was reported by a human — a customer email, a support ticket, someone walking over to your desk — rather than by a monitoring system
- You need to page a different team about something they own
- You haven’t connected a monitoring tool yet, or don’t have one
Raise an Alert
Section titled “Raise an Alert”- Go to the Teams page
- Click Notify Team
- Complete the form:
- Team to Notify — the team whose on-call schedule should be paged
- Severity — Sev 1 (critical), Sev 2 (high), or Sev 3 (medium/low)
- Notification Title — a short summary of the problem
- Notification Description — the detail the responder needs
- Click Notify Team
The alert is created immediately and follows the team’s normal on-call logic.
What Happens Next
Section titled “What Happens Next”An alert raised this way is identical to one sent by a monitoring tool. It uses the same endpoint as the API, so it behaves exactly the same way:
- OpsFusion looks up who is currently on-call for that team
- The recipient is notified according to their own notification order — email, SMS, and phone call with their configured delays
- If nobody acknowledges, the team’s escalation policy fires
- The alert appears in the team’s alert list with a full timeline
- It can be acknowledged or closed the same ways — in the app, by replying to the SMS, or by pressing a digit during the call
